The following excursions may be arranged for guests residing in our resort :

Anthropological:

Mentawai islands

visit to the last tribes still living at the level of the stone age (5 - 7 days). This excursion is recommended for very well trained people: absolutely no comfort because of the life style of the natives and of the complete lack of infrastructures.

Sportive:

Gunung Kerinci Volcano (3.800 m.).

Two days of trekking in the forest followed by a climb for the final 800 m. to reach the peak.

This excursion is to be organised over 4 days and 3 nights. Recommended for highly trained trekkers.

Cultural and panoramic:

Minangkabau high lands

Visit to the Bukittinggi region, the origin of the local culture; excellent hotel structures and unforgettable landscapes.

There are also interesting handicraft villages in the vicinity of Bukittinggi, such as wood carving items, silver filigrees or hand woven fabrics.

For a thorough coverage of the area, 4 full days would be recommended ; yet it may also be arranged on 3 days and 2 nights. All levels.
 

Jembatan Akar :

The root bridge. Easy and pleasant way to have a look at an isolated valley and to discover the authenticity of the people. Visit the unique "living bridge".

This is a very easy day trip for the whole family.

Padang and local markets

Over a single day visit the city of Padang, its Chinese quarter, the river sides, the old "colonial" area, and its really impressive market.

Even closer to us, the local market of Tarusan is worth a short visit, on Tuesdays only.
